Backstreet Boys & New Kids on the Block perform on ‘Dancing’

Dancing with the Stars took on two big groups on Tuesday night. The NKOTBSB boy bands, that as age can tell turned to men, had two wonderful segments that brought every DWTS audience member to their feet. The evening performances, definitely highly anticipated, were one of the best of the season.

Opening Dancing with the Stars Results, the NKOTBSB choreographed segment had everyone singing along (and moving in their seats) while the guys performed ‘Don't Turn Out The Lights.’ Giving out the vocals almost evening, the guys were able to cater to the ladies favorite band members while still passing off the lyrics in a seriously smooth transition.

The last segment of the evening had the two bands performing hits that were recognized almost instantly. The medley of “I Want it That Way” and “Step by Step” were a fun number that had everyone in the audience singing (even us) and it brought out one of the final guilty pleasures of the evening before it was time to reveal the elimination of week six.

NKOTBSB Debut ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights’ on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

NKOTBSB

NKOTBSB — the boyband supergroup made up of New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys — took the stage on tonight’s ‘Dancing With the Stars: The Results Show’ to perform their debut single, ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights.’

Dressed in pieces of black and white clothing, the “boys” — now a nine-piece man group — even hit the dance floor to give themselves a little more room to strut their stuff, and the ‘DWTS’ dancers joined them.
But the ’90s fun didn’t stop there. All of the guys came back later in the show, separately (but in new outfits, of course), to give the audience a blast from the past.

First, the Backstreet Boys took the stage to perform a taste of their 1999 hit, ‘I Want it That Way,’ minus Kevin Richardson, who didn’t get down with the idea of a rebirth. Then, New Kids rocked ‘DWTS’ viewers with their 1990 phenomenon ‘Step by Step’ — and Joey McIntyre, a former contestant on the show, danced with a female competitor to show off a few moves he’s been working on.

While the NKOTB/BSB performances took up a good chunk of the hour-long results show, former ‘Idol’ hopeful Pia Toscano was given the mic for a minute to show the world that she does, in fact, have what it takes to be a star — or at least go dancing with one.

The boy-band supergroup New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys (NKOTBSB) Tuesday night stopped over at Dancing With The Stars before hitting the road for the much-awaited tour set to kick start June 2 in Uncasville, Connecticut.

New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys, known as NKOTBSB, hit the stage of the dance show in two segments. The results show opened with a choreographed segment. In January 2011, NKOTBSB extended the tour slated to kick off June 2. The tour that was initially expected to come to an end on July 9 was extended till July 30 for "overwhelming" demand for tickets. The 41-date tour will end at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvanis.

The tour's extention came after the bands managed to hit the headlines for closing the American Music Awards with a medley that included Backstreet's "I Want It That Way" and NKOTB's "Hangin' Tough."
